The Beaver Local Boys Soccer team hosted Steubenville Big Red on Thursday in very important OVAC 5A contest. Both teams came into the contest jockeying for position to be one of the top two seeds for the tournament. The game was exactly what it was meant to be, two really good teams battling to the end. The Beavers got on the board first with a Deacon Brown goal over the outstretched arms of the Big Red Keeper. Steubenville waited little time answering to make it 1-1. Both teams continued to trade goals with Lucas Price and Kaden Mays scoring for the Beavers to make it 3-3 heading into late in the 2nd half. With 3:14 left in the game, Mays once again got loose for the Beavers in the open field hammering in the go ahead goal. However, just like all game Big Red found a way to tie it up with a little over one minute left to play ending the hard fought battle at a 4-4 tie. Both teams were congratulated with the effort on the night by a standing ovation from all those in attendance. It was Beaver Local’s first draw of the season as the team dropped to 7-0-1. Big Red is 5-1-1. Beaver Local will be back in action on Tuesday as they host Weir.
